Mold and Mildew after a flooding problem

In the past few years we have had unprecedented and unfortunate flooding of our homes and work places due to heavy rains and strong hurricanes.  The aftermath of this has been a dangerous infestation of mold ,mildew, bacteria, viruses and other germs into our living and working environments.  After drying out and removing wet and damaged structure the usual "solution" for this has been to permeate our homes and offices with strong toxic chemicals, usually paying "professional" companies tens of thousands of dollars for the "clean up".  This is also unfortunate for 3 reasons:
